Mondays: Superheroes need to know how to create and problem solve to get out of tricks and traps. Each week we will introduce a “Building Challenge”– can you create a bridge out of straws that will support 10 dominos?  How about a wooden car that can be propelled with rubber bands?  Kids who are here all week are welcome to continue to work on these projects as the week progresses.

Tuesdays: Superheroes need to be able to know about the world around them in order to foil evil plots. Gross science, amazing magic, and special technology experiences fill these days.  Each week brings something a little different, but will always be a new experience.  Kids will learn how to use the computer to design an amusement park, pull metal out of cereal or make their little sister disappear.

Wednesdays: Superheroes need to be creative, inventive and be willing to use those powers for the good of others. Author’s Workshop!  We will be working with the kids to create their own stories, writing and illustrating our own books which we will actually have bound and use to read to our “book buddies” at the preschool.  Kids can create a story about anything that interests them and have some guidance in how to make their dreams come alive on the page!

Thursdays: Superheroes need to be adventurous and willing to take risks. FIELD TRIP DAY!  We are the only after-school program in town that goes on field trips EVERY week. We often visit places like the bowling alley, the radio station or roller skating.  Once a month, we will take our books from our Author Workshops and meet with our “Book Buddies” at the preschool center.

Fridays: Superheroes need to be able to impress people with what they can do as well as be a positive influence on their communities.  Messy and creative art projects will be planned for these days.  Whenever possible, these projects will be cooperative and used as “thank yous” for all of the places in the community who welcome us in their doors.  We are not afraid to plan and implement projects that teach ways to use materials kids might not think of on their own and which allow them to discover new ways of using things themselves!
